Running Club Committee
Meetings are available to any
member who is a part of the member committee to attend or if you have been
elected as Secretary, Treasurer or Chairman.At the AGM on 27th
March 2010 a members committee will be elected and the roles will
also be filled for Secretary, Treasurer & Chairman.If you want to put your name forward for any
role or to be a part of the members committee, please do so before the 28th February 2010.If you do not want to be part of the
committee and want to put a suggestion forward to be discussed at any of the
meetings please contact one of the committee members.
The last Saturday of the month
club! Is a new club activity
for 2010, to see your times improve each month and check whether you are
training hard enough every Tuesday night!!. The race distance is 5.7KM in the
forest and the results will be recorded at the end of each month.The results will also go towards the most
improved member of the year award presented at the Annual Achill awards dinner
in July.
Donadea 10K 2010 leaflet drops will start at races from June
2010 to September 2010 all members will be asked to help leaflet drop at races
they attend to help with the continued success of the Donadea Forest 10K charity
race.Leaflets will always be available
to collect from St Kevins at training from June.If you want to be part of the DonadeaForest 10K committee, please attend the
1st Meeting on 6th
April 2010.
* Members Help To make each running and social event enjoyable
and memorable, members are asked to help with the coordination of an event they
are attending.This involves letting members
know whether car pooling is available, what accommodation is being booked for
the event and bookings a restaurants for after the event.This helps all new and existing members feel
part of the club and makes it more enjoyable for all.If you are willing to coordinate the above
mentioned at an event you are going to, please let Jo know on 0872991560.
Race Event Volunteers Required
In 2010, Jo Cawley (Chairman)
is taking the responsibility to stage the 1st Kildare Marathon on 9th May 2010.It will start with a half marathon and will
continue to the full marathon in 2011.Jo
has also just confirmed and secured The Cliffs of Moher Marathon in CountyClare
which will take place on 2nd
October 2010.The Cliffs
will start with a half marathon in 2010 and continue the following year with a
full marathon 2011.If you want to be a volunteer
at these events please contact Jo on 0872991560 and she will discuss the events
volunteer package with you.
If you are thinking of
taking part in a race that is not on the race calender and want to let other
members know.Please email Dave Lynch so
he can add it to the monthly newsletter that also goes for other information
you want to send on group emails.Please
send your information to:

things happening at the club via the monthly newsletter.
Some of the dates for
races may change by the organisers in 2010, if this happens we shall notify
you.
The social dates and
meetings will remain the same.
