Q: How
can I get to St Kevin’s GAA?
A: There
are directions from Clane on the Donadea Running Club Website www.donadearunningclub.com
and the registration (St Kevin’s) will be clearly signposted from Maynooth turn
off at the N4 and from Clane in Kildare.

Where is the start?
A: 2
minutes from registration
Q:
Where is the finish?
A: At the
lake in Donadea Forest Park. All runners will be directed back via
signage to St Kevin’s to return to there cars and refreshments at the GAA
Club.
Q:
Will there be free parking in the Forest?
A: No,
the only free parking will be at St Kevin’s GAA where registration will take
place, those people wanting to park in the forest there is a charge of €4 per
car. Runners only will be asked to park in St Kevin’s, supporters are
requested to park in the forest.
Q:
Will there be a timing chip supplied to each runner?
A: Yes,
you will receive this at registration. The results will be available at www.donadearunningclub.com
under Results 2010 on Monday 18th October 2009.
Q: Has
the course been accurately measured?
A: The course
has been measured by an international course measurer supplied by the Athletic
Association of Ireland. The course will have KM markers around the
course.
Q: When
and where will the prize ceremony take place?
A:
Weather permitting the prize ceremony will take place at the finish line at
12.15pm. If the weather is very wet the ceremony will take place at
12.45pm at St Kevin’s GAA.
Q:
Will there be refreshment available?
A: There
will be complimentary refreshments available at St Kevin’s after the run from
12 noon. Our sponsors will be supplying some complimentary snacks after
the race also. If you require a hot drink and toast before the run a
small fee will be requested to cover costs.
Q: Can
I enter the race as an individual and as a part of a team.
A: No you have
to decide on entering as one or the other.
Q: Is
the course safe?
A: Due to
the expected numbers this year we have taken extra care with the safety of the
run. The first 3.5km is on the road to spread out the field. The
trails in the forest will be checked for safety before the run. Be
careful between 7KM and 8KM on the course as there is a narrow trail, this will
be highlighted by a warning sign on the course.
Q: Is
there a map of the course?
A: The
map will be available of the course 2 weeks before the event
Q: Is
there a baggage area available?
A:
Runners are encouraged to leave there belongings in the car. Those who
have traveled on public transport can leave their baggage in the designated
area at their own
risk.
Q. What
facilities are available at Start and Finish line?
A. There are plenty of
toilets at St Kevin’s and portaloo’s on route. There are toilets
available at the coffee shop in the forest for after the run. There is a
water stations on the route and water after the run. There is first aid
available and sports massage available at St Kevin’s before and after the
race. Fruit, chocolate and refreshments are available to all participants
after the race.

Q: Are
buggies and dogs allowed with runners taking part in the event?
A:
Strictly not. Due to health and safety, runners are not allowed to take
part with a dog or a pram or anything else that could cause a safety risk to
other runners.
Q: Is
it possible to enter on the day?
A: If the
maximum limit of entrants has not been reached by race day there will be
limited entries taken on the day. This is unlikely and a timing chip may
not be available.
Q. Where
should I wear my race number?
A. Pin it to the front of
your t shirt that you are wearing for the race with the pins provided.
Q. Will the
roads be closed to traffic?
A. At the start the traffic will
be stopped, whilst the first 3K of the course may be subject to some traffic.
However the Gardai/Civil Defence will be present to make sure that road
conditions will be safe, there will be plenty of Stewards to assist. Runners
are asked to keep to the right hand side of the road for the first 3K until
moving into the forest. The course in the forest is open to the public however
there will be plenty of warning signs warning pedestrians to proceed with
caution and stewards will be monitoring this closely. Very few pedestrians are
expected on the day.
Q. How many
competitors are expected?
A. Approximately 500 to
600 competitors are expected this year.
Q. If I
decide to run my race for the little way, where do I get my sponsorship pack?
A. You will receive a
sponsorship pack if you have opted to run for the little way on your
registration form online or manually. Alternatively go to the contact us
section of the website and request a sponsor pack from there.

The run will start promptly at 11.00am on
Saturday 16th October from St Kevin’s GAA.
All postal and online entries will collect their race
number from Staplestown GAA on Friday 15th October from 6.00pm to 10.00pm.
Numbers can also be collected from 8.30am to 10.00am on
the day of the race
